Have you ever wanted to learn a handstand, but couldn’t get over the fear of going upside? Have you ever wanted to achieve a freestanding handstand?
This workshop is designed to help you get over your fear of inverting and allowing handstands to become part of your everyday practice. We will learn how to properly prehab and rehab our bodies with conditioning exercises that targets the primary components when learning the handstand shape. Also, we will talk about handstand theory and the many factors that contribute to building a healthy and stable practice. In the end, you will feel more confident and powerful
within yourself to practice handstands more often.

This is a beginner-intermediate level workshop designed to allow handstand awareness to become part of your everyday practice. Students will learn how to properly prepare their body with conditioning and flexibility exercises that target the primary and secondary components when learning the fundamental handstand progressions, mounts and shapes. No matter what level you are at, we will work together on improving your flexibility, mobility, and mental capability towards achieving various handstand shapes.
About Eugene (Yogi Bear)
Eugene is a versatile artist, teacher and a kid at heart. His nickname is Bear! He
graduated with a Bachelor’s of Art degree from Georgia State University and uses his
degree to teach art and crafts at Atlanta International School’s after school Kaleidoscope program. He works as a camp counselor at Intown Stars Gymnastics in Decatur. He has a background in hip-hop dance performance, popping, locking and breaking/breakdancing. Eugene is a RYT 200hr certified yoga instructor from Peachtree Yoga Center. He currently teaches yoga in his community and at a health and wellness corporate company called Optum: Plus One Management.
Lastly, Eugene is a Handstand coach! He has a huge passion for handstands and loves
helping others achieve them. He teaches workshops and private sessions. He has over a decade of experience on balancing, walking, shapes changing and moving on his hands. He has studied from professional coaches and is still studying from them to become the best teacher he can be for himself, and his students. He has studied the art of handstands from different disciplines including one from the circus arts world which is known as The Art of Handbalancing.
