General Information
What is Earth to Sky? Earth to Sky is a performance-centric youth aerial program that empowers its
members to learn all aspects of performance production and to work together to create two full-scale
aerial performances each year. Troupe members are also often invited to participate in community
events and festivals (ie- Streets Alive, the East Point Community Festival, the L5P Halloween Parade
and the Inman Park Parade)
What is a performance-centric program exactly? Earth to Sky helps students learn and apply
performance building blocks including:
- storylines and theme generation
- choreography
- music selection (and music rights)
- casting and role assignments
- lighting techniques
- stage, set and scene design, costume design
- marketing
- venue set-up and breakdown
- safety inspections and rigging
- And much, much more.
Who can join Earth to Sky? Any middle or high school student who has taken aerial classes for at
least one year and who commits to continuing to take at least one weekly class throughout the
2026/2027 school year and to rehearsing with their troupe weekly throughout the year (on Sundays).
As a troupe member, what are my responsibilities?
- Actively listen to each other’s ideas and opinions.
- Celebrate the unique skills that each member brings to the troupe (including your own)
- Have fun. Work hard.
- Work together to find solutions that allow everyone to feel valued and heard
- Show up for one another. Do what you promise to do, when you promise to do it, to the best of your ability.
- Do not use illegal drugs, alcohol, or tobacco before or during practices
- Communicate (tell your coach and your troupe) if you will miss practice or be late to practice.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Trust that your troupe members will be there to help you
Earth to Sky is not for students who want to perform- it’s for students who want to create performances.

What are Coach/Studio Responsibilities?
- Provide all troupe members with a safe and supportive working environment
- Guide members to consensus on storylines and themes and other production elements
- Guide choreography of the troupe’s group and individual performance pieces
- Keep track of production elements and maintain the production schedule
- Identify resource gaps and work to fill them
- Keep communication lines with parents/guardians and troupe members open
- Ensure that students are working within their skill range and have received the appropriate training to perform.
What are the Troupe Fees?
- $170/month. Includes Sunday rehearsals, open studios (see below), dress rehearsals and performances.
When Do Troupe Members Rehearse and Perform?
(NOTE- Open Studios are included in the Earth to Sky Fees. EtS members can sign up for any open
studio (except Thursday nights) to practice.

No rehearsals on the following Sundays (Thanksgiving and Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa holidays)

Missing rehearsals– We know that there is a lot going on in your lives and there are lots of other
school/family/activity obligations. But when you are absent, your troupe mates can’t fully rehearse their
performance, so we ask you prioritize these practices to the best of your ability and communicate with
your troupe members when you can’t make a rehearsal. Troupe members may be asked to pause their
participation or may have their roles in productions re-evaluated if they miss rehearsals often.
Performances
Troupes will put together two performances/year. Within the first couple of practices, the troupes will
select their Winter performance date. Please make sure you bring you calendar with you to the first
practice. All performances will have one full dress rehearsal as well.
The Spring performance date will be selected by the troupe in the new year once members have a
clearer picture of other springtime conflicts (graduation ceremonies, proms/dances, school portfolio
nights, etc.) Generally. the spring performance occurs in late April/early May.
