In September we hosted our first Student Spotlight Night to provide students interested in performing a chance to shine. Our plan is to make them a quarterly event (more or less, as we don’t want to compete with important holidays or events). Any Challenge Aerial student can sign up to perform- there is no tryout and no one will be turned away (until the roster fills). Below are answers to some of the most frequent questions we field:
Question: When is the next Student Spotlight?
Answer: Our next Student Spotlight is Saturday, October 15 at 7:30pm. Come and cheer on your fellow aerialists. The first show of the new year will be on February 4 at 7:30pm.
Question: How do I sign up to be in the Student Spotlight?
Answer: We put a sign-up sheet on the studio door for folks to sign up. Sometimes low tech is the best tech.
Question: Can an aerial class sign up to do a piece in the Student Spotlight?
Answer: Yes. If every member of the class wants to perform. If only some members want to perform, those class members can sign up as a pair, trio, quad, etc.
Question: What if I sign up and then change my mind?
Answer: If you decide that you are not ready to perform and you already signed up, just strike your name off the list (if it is still up on the door) or let us know.
Question: What does it cost to perform? What are the ticket prices?
Answer: No entry fee and no admission fee. We don’t charge our students to perform and we don’t charge their family and friends to watch their performance. We do put out a donation box if folks want to contribute to the cost of putting on the event.
